Hello
This picture was taken at an exhibit in the Rockland County Courthouse in New City. I am standing next to one of my favorite paintings which I entitled "Crystal Blue Persuasion" after the song by Tommy James and the Shondells. It was inspired by a photo taken on a sunny winters' day while walking around Congers Lake which was frozen and had a beautifully random symmetrical design in the ice. Each of my paintings has a story behind it, and I hope as we get to know each other, you will learn more about my pieces of work.
Artist Statement
I am a self-taught artist residing in Nyack, New York. Although I have always had a love of art, it wasn't until several years ago when I retired that I was able to devote more time to my craft. I initially started painting on the back of denim jackets since this reminded me of my youth, and focused on album covers as I felt this is a lost art form. My work has since then taken me in many directions, but the relationship with music continues, sometimes it's a song title, sometimes it's song lyrics. Today, I paint whatever inspires me as you can see from my portfolio which includes portraits, landscapes, and abstracts.

I have exhibited my work in Nyack either as a solo artist or with members of the Arts Council of Rockland (ACOR) or with the Nyack Art Collective (NAC) at the following locations: the Elmwood Playhouse, District 96 (the Burger Loft), the Garner Art Center, the Hotel Nyack, the Nyack Library, the Rock Shop, the Rockland Center for the Arts, the XHouse, and at other locations throughout Rockland such as the Pearl River Library, the Rockland County Courthouse (New City), Union Restaurant (Haverstraw), and the Vallery Cottage Library. Other locations include the Pelham Art Center, and at Synchronicity Gallery in Wurtsboro, New York.
